Most frequent words
How it counts
Words are runs of characters separated by spaces, tabs or
newlines. Characters counts letters, digits, punctuation and
spaces alike (emoji count as one). Sentences are stretches of
text ending in ., !, ? or …
that contain at least one letter or digit — so a bare "Mr." still flows into
the next sentence, but abbreviations like "e.g." can inflate the count.
Paragraphs are blocks separated by blank lines, and
lines counts the lines that contain anything at all.
Reading time assumes a calm 200 words per minute, speaking time a presentable 130 — both just rough guides, rounded to seconds or minutes.
